Bio for the speaker, Susan Crook: 

After moving into a home with a "resident" colony of honey bees over their front door, Susan befriended a beekeeper in Charleston SC and thus began her beekeeping journey. Participating in the removal and rehoming of this colony led to her adopting 2 hives the following spring and she hasn’t stopped yet. As the Director of the Master Beekeeper Program for the SC Beekeepers Association, she has the privilege of working with and advocating for our beekeepers across the state focusing on education. On the local level, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Charleston Area Beekeepers Association, serves as an Apiculture Advisor for the College of Charleston Graduate Program for Environmental Sustainability, and she is an apiary advisor for the Charleston Parks Conservancy.  Susan loves working with new beekeepers and sharing the adventures of beekeeping. She received her B.S. from Wofford College and her M.Ed. from Clemson University. She is a Cornell University Certified Master Beekeeper and loves to talk about bees to anyone that will listen.
