TOPIC: South Carolina's home-based food production law (Cottage Food Law)
SPEAKER: Sheryl Brousseau
Sheryl Brousseau, of Edgefield, SC, is a Journeyman Beekeeper, a certified Honey Judge, and Honey Show competitor with numerous top prizes and first place wins. She is also the president of Ridge Beekeepers Association and keeps on average ten hives. Sheryl was also instrumental in the making of the guidelines for SC's Cottage Food Law in 2012 and in 2022 for the revisions that includes honey as a cottage food product. At the meeting, she will give a quick overview of the options for legally selling honey in SC and answer any questions you may have. Then she will give a demonstration of how the honey judges judge a jar of honey along with some tips to win in a honey show.
